What is Yoga?

The practice originated in India about 5,000 years ago as part of daily routines activities. It focuses on breathing, fluid movement, and strengthening the body to improve mental and physical wellbeing. The main components of yoga are mediatation, breathing and asana (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility). The ancient practice has been adapted over the years in a variety of ways.
