About

I was born in London but I grew up in New Zealand and call it home and myself a KIWI. I love it there but needed to move to further a career in Musical Theatre.

I arrived in the UK, via two years in Australia, in 2007. In many ways working as an actress was a dream come true. It allowed me to travel, to perform in world famous venues, work alongside screen/stage legends and other experiences money cannot buy.

But the existence is one likened to being on a roller coaster – when you’re up, you’re UP and when you’re down, you’re down – as anyone in the industry can verify. When you are unemployed and are doing hundreds of castings/auditions and recalls you can find yourself constantly doubting your ability and I lost my sense of purpose.

During one of these times I began taking regular yoga classes – at first it was to help with a performance injury and then to keep my body ‘show fit’ in between roles, but then I noticed something deeper happening within me. I noticed I was happier, I was more balanced, I was fitter & stronger physically, but more importantly I felt as mentally strong as I had in years. It was then I decided to do my training and become a teacher myself.

I found Yoga to be a wonderful way to de-stress and refocus the mind, as well as condition the body. It gives a holistic experience with both the mind and body being worked in an energetic and positive way. The more I practiced yoga, the more I realised how therapeutic it was and wanted to share this knowledge and experience with others.

Having worked & lived in five countries as performer, yoga teacher or as a corporate I have immersed myself in many different cultures. This has been a real pleasure as I enjoy working & communicating with different types of people. It has also well-placed me to be able to teach Yoga in variety of environments.

My training is in Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow Yoga in traditional Primary Series and Rocket/Power Yoga. The practice is energising but has really been known to calm the central nervous system. I am also qualified as a Prenatal and Postnatal/Mum and Baby Yoga Instructor and feel priviledged to be able to work alongside mums during this special time.
